Mr. Write is a character from Link's Awakening.

Link's Awakening

Mr. Write lives in a house just north of the Mysterious Forest, which can be reached by jumping over some pits with the Roc's Feather.

Mr. Write enjoys writing letters and is often alone, writing them to himself. He often writes letters to Christine, a woman in Animal Village. She sends him photographs of a different woman, which is a reference to Princess Peach of the Mario series, who he thinks is beautiful.

Mr. Write is a part of the trading sequence. Once Link brings the Hibiscus to Christine, she asks him to deliver her Letter to Mr. Write. He is extremely happy, so he gives Link the Broom in return. He immediately begins composing a response to Christine.

Although he has only appeared in Link's Awakening, his counterpart Dr. Left appears in Oracle of Seasons and The Minish Cap.

Trivia

• Mr. Write is a reference to Dr. Wright from Sim City for the SNES, who is named after, and his physical appearance based on Sim City's creator Will Wright.
• The music played in Mr. Write's house is Dr. Wright's theme from Sim City for the SNES.
• Dr. Left from Oracle of Seasons and The Minish Cap is based on Mr. Write.
